Men’s Issues – Understanding Our struggle & Cultural Expectations
Gender plays a powerful role in our identity. From the moment of conception (in the womb), social and cultural beliefs shape how we are perceived and how we learn to behave.
Patriarchal structures have been the nest for machismo (sometimes called "toxic masculinity") across all cultures. This phenomenon has been a source of:
Discrimination
Violence
Suffering — for everyone, including men themselves
As a bilingual Spanish-speaking counselor, I help men untangle these cultural messages without shame or blame.
